Kim Silvers
Kim Silvers RN, BSN graduated from University of Florida in 1984 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Sociology. She then earned a BSN, Bachelor's of Science in Nursing, degree in 1986 from Florida International University. Kim began her nursing career at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach where her concentrated scope of practice was caring for the geriatric community. Kim worked as a RN at Mount Sinai in many areas including Intensive Care, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)/Surgical Recovery and the Endoscopy Unit. Kim derives satisfaction from assisting the frail geriatric client, their families and caregivers to enable the individual to be as independent as possible. Caring for others, especially the elderly has always been a passion for Kim. Coming from a family of health care professionals, you could say caring for others has always been in her blood. Following her hospital career, Kim began working in the Home Health Care industry. In 2005, she partnered with Sherrie Quiterio, RN as founders of Nursing Plus, a Medicare Certified Home Health Care Company located in both Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. As nurses, Kim and Sherrie saw the home health care business from a different perspective. Kim wanted to take this caring for others approach to a new, personalized level. Her ultimate goal is focused on the attention of the individual patient: to keep the elderly individual in the comfort of his or her own home and as safe and independent in their own care as possible. The purpose of her involvement in Nursing Plus is to promote, maintain and restore health as well as minimize the effects of illness and disability on the elderly of our community. Kim embraces Nursing Plus's goal to provide excellent care for their patients, while improving the quality of their lives for them and their families.
Sherrie Quiterio
Sherrie Quiterio
Sherrie was born and raised in Miami Beach. Her interest in nursing started at an early age and was cemented when she saw her grandfather suffer with heart disease. Sherrie graduated from the Deaconess School of Nursing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and then was selected to participate in a preceptorship program in the Intensive Care Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. From there, she was employed by St. Josephs’ Hospital as an RN in their Cardiac Care Unit. In 1988 she decided to move back home and continued her career at the Miami Heart Institute where she was also a nurse in the Cardiac Care Unit. In 1993 with the challenges of raising two small children, she made a career change and began working in home care. Over the next twelve years she worked in many areas of home health along with obtaining her certificate as a Health Care Risk Manager with the belief that better patient outcomes would be achieved when the company was led by healthcare professionals who had witnessed the challenges faced by the elderly, Sherrie and Kim opened their first office in Miami-Dade in 2005. The Broward office was opened in 2007.
